The position indicator is a device which makes it possible to control the opening and closing of gate valves, especially those located in hard-to-reach places such as grounds. In addition, it makes it possible to determinate whether the gate valve is open (OPEN) or closed (SHUT). It is often used as a fitting component in NFPA-compliant fire protection installations, meeting the requirments of UL 789 and FM 1110 standards.

Application

The potion indicator makes it possible to close/open gate valves placed in the ground or otherwise inaccessible. It also allows you to determine in which position the gate is. OPEN or SHUT. The vertical indicator column can be mounted on specially prepared gate valves. Used as part of the fitting equipment in NFPA-compliant fire protection systems. Meets the requirements of UL 789 and FM 1110.

The key used to close/open the gate valve is fitted to a U-type fitting, which is located on the side on the column boyd. It can thus be secured against misuse or theft )e.g. padlock, chain). The security device is to be provided by the user himself, The OPEN and SHUT plated can be easily positioned to match the glass in the column window. The telescopic design allows easy adaptation to the foundation depth of the slider without the need for trmming.

Available sizes: fitting on DN100 – DN350 (4” – 14”)

Finish: internal end external spray-applied coating (red), meeting AWWA C550 requirements; lower pipe protected with bitumen coating(black); internal and external coating(optional)

Accessories: limit switch prepared for monitoring the position of the gate wedge (see data sheet)

Design and assembly:

  • adjustable relescopic indicator stem
  • a2-70 or a4-70 stainless steel fasteners (optional)
  • tab sleeve allows adjustment from 13 to 45 returns

Mounting:

  1. Pull the head off the indicator column,
  2. Adjust the setting of the open (OPEN) and closed (SHUT) tabs according to the gate diameter.
  3. Adjust the telescopic stem and lower casing pipe to the desired length so that the marker on the column is flush with the ground surface.
  4. Attach the flange of the indicator foot to the gate valve flange
